Short answer: on iPhone, open Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping → Add Payment Method, and enter the name and billing address exactly as the card issuer has them. Apple usually does not take real money when you add a card: all 58 Apple records left on 16 of our cards when people added cards were $0.00 and approved. If Apple declines the card, Apple itself says it does not know the reason; check the billing details, make sure the card can be used in your Apple Account’s country or region, then look at the issuer’s decline reason. Do not keep resubmitting.
Written by the Pink Card team (pinkcard.cc). Apple’s rules are taken from these Apple Support (US) articles: “Add a payment method to your Apple Account”, “If you need to change or update your Apple Account payment method”, “If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store”, “Payment methods that you can use with your Apple Account” and “Remove a payment method from your Apple Account”, checked on 2026-10-25; menu names may differ slightly by iOS version. Charge data covers every record whose merchant name starts with APPLE on our own cards from 2026-05-01 to 2026-10-27. Pink Card fees are those shown on the purchase page on 2026-10-28. Pink Card is not affiliated with Apple.
Add a payment method on iPhone
- Open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Payment & Shipping. You may be asked to sign in with your Apple Account.
- Tap Add Payment Method and choose Credit or Debit Card.
- Enter the card number, expiry date and security code. Apple asks that your name and billing address are spelled correctly and match what the card issuer has on file. With Pink Card, copy the billing address from the card email exactly, including the postal code.
- Tap Done. If you have several payment methods, tap Edit in Payment & Shipping and drag them into order; Apple charges them from top to bottom.
On a Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom left, click your name again, then Payment Method → Add Payment Method. On Windows: in the Apple Music or Apple TV app, click your name → View My Account → Manage Payments.
What the $0 Apple entry is
- On our cards, Apple shows up under two merchant names: APPLE.COM/BILL and APPLE.COM/US.
- All 58 APPLE.COM/BILL records (16 cards) were $0.00 and approved. They take no money and do not reduce the balance. They appear when someone adds or edits a payment method in Apple, so they look like Apple checking that the card works; Apple’s help pages do not describe this step or its amount.
- Several entries on one card are normal: 12 of the 16 cards had more than one, and one card had 13 in 4 days. Removing and re-adding the card, or editing the billing details, can trigger another one.
- Apple says international credit and debit cards may need to be verified before use, and some payment methods ask you to confirm through the issuer’s app or a text message. With Pink Card, if you are not asked to verify, there is nothing to do.
What we saw on our own cards
We checked every Apple record on our cards from 2026-05-01 to 2026-10-27: 20 cards had added a card in Apple or paid Apple.
- $0 checks: 58 records on 16 cards, all approved, merchant name APPLE.COM/BILL, all in May and June 2026.
- Real charges (merchant name APPLE.COM/US): 5 cards, one charge each.
- 1 charge of $80 went through (October).
- 2 charges were reversed ($20 and $22.96); the money went back to the card and the transaction history shows them as refunded.
- 1 charge of $20 was declined with “Insufficient funds”.
- 1 charge of $72.41 has stayed pending; that card has since been closed.
Why Apple declines a payment method (Apple’s list)
- Billing details do not match: the name and billing address must be spelled correctly and match what the issuer has on file. With Pink Card, use the address from the card email, not your home address.
- The card itself was declined: Apple suggests adding a different payment method, removing the old one, and trying the purchase again.
- There is an unpaid balance: pay it first, or even free apps may not download.
- The payment method does not match your account’s country or region: use one accepted in the country or region of your Apple Account. Apple’s list says “most credit and debit cards” for most countries, which is not a promise that every card works.
- The issuer has not approved it: the issuer may need to allow international transactions or ask you to verify in its app or by text.
- Apple flagged the purchase as unusual: you need to request a purchase review (next section).
Apple says it does not have information on why a card was declined; ask the issuer. With Pink Card, open the card’s transaction history and look at the reason on the APPLE charge: if the balance was short, top up; if the card is frozen or closed, use another card.
“Purchase could not be completed”: how to request a review
- Go back to the item you were trying to buy.
- Try to buy it again.
- When you see the message that the purchase could not be completed, tap Continue.
- Follow the on-screen steps to submit a purchase review.
Apple says its support advisers cannot submit or speed up the review for you. While it is under review, do not keep retrying with different cards; each decline can add another failed-transaction fee.
In-app subscriptions: how much to keep on the card
- ChatGPT, Claude and similar apps bought inside an iPhone app are billed by Apple, to the payment method in your Apple Account, at the App Store price and currency for your region, which can differ from the website price. Changing the card or cancelling is done in Apple’s subscription settings; the service’s own billing page cannot do it.
- Pink Card takes $1 per successful charge and $2.50 per month from the balance. If Apple will charge $20, keep at least $21; for $80, at least $81.
- If you stop using a card, cancel the subscription in Apple or switch it to a new card first, then remove the old card, so renewals do not keep hitting a card you no longer use.

Already have a Pink Card: top up the same card
Topping up keeps the same card number, expiry and CVV, so the card saved in your Apple Account does not need to be added again. A $30 top-up costs $5 + ($30 + $5) × 5% = $6.75 in fees ($36.75 in total). Top-ups usually reach the card within 5–10 minutes of payment; buy after the money lands.

Get a prepaid virtual card (USDT or USDC)
- Open pinkcard.cc/en and choose an amount: presets start at $110 ($110, $220, $500, $1000), or enter a custom amount from $100.
- Pay with USDT on BEP-20 or ERC-20, or with USDC on ERC-20. Send exactly the amount shown, on exactly the network you picked.
- The card number, expiry, CVV and billing address arrive by email about 1–2 minutes after the payment confirms (check spam).
- Add it in Settings → your name → Payment & Shipping, with the billing address from the email exactly as written.
We see both successful and declined Apple charges on our cards, so we cannot promise every purchase will go through. Every charge and decline is listed in the card’s transaction history.
Pink Card fees (as of 2026-10-28)
- Card issuance: $10 one-time, plus a 3% service fee on (card amount + $10). A $110 card costs $123.60, a $220 card $236.90.
- From the card balance after activation: $1 per transaction and $2.50 per month.
- Failed authorizations are charged $1 too (at most 3 failed charges per card per month). Reversed charges do not reduce the balance.
- Top-up of the same card: $5 plus 5% of (top-up amount + $5), minimum top-up $30, usually on the card within 5–10 minutes. Full fee table: pinkcard.cc/en/fees.
- Once the card details are emailed, the order cannot be cancelled, so double-check your email address before paying.
